Occupational Therapist

Location: New Haven, CT
Date Posted: 3/8/2017
I’m a registered and licensed Occupational Therapist who is passionate about empowering young adults to obtain their goals for finding meaningful employment and successfully transitioning into adulthood. I’m beginning to familiarize myself with Project SEARCH and I can already tell that I would be a great fit for the program. As an OT, I have experience with many different types and levels of ability. Skills that I can offer include activity analysis where I can break down activities and make personalized adaptations to the environment, tools or task to maximize work independence for Project SEARCH participants. I am interested in working at a Project SEARCH site or travel to different sites. With that being said, I currently live in CT but I am flexible and willing to relocate anywhere. Please contact me!

I was on the startup team for South Carolina’s Spartanburg Project SEARCH. I interned as a job coach my Senior Year in College and then was hired full time following my graduation. I worked there for a year and a half before moving to NM after getting married. I served on the Business Advisory Counsel, led community events, and helped create and develop job opportunities in the hospital and around the community. My BA is in Special Education with a minor in Psychology and Child Advocacy.

Special Education Teacher

Location: Denver, CO
Date Posted: 4/10/2017
I am currently a senior at Colorado Christian University. I will graduate this May with a bachelors of arts in Special Education Ages 5-21. Upon graduation, I will receive my Colorado Special Education Generalist Ages 5-21 Licensure as well as my Colorado Elementary Education K-6 Licensure. Upon receiving those credentials I will then apply for my California and Missouri Special Education Generalist credentials, as I will be moving to either state. I have been involved with the Project SEARCH at the Children’s Hospital of Colorado in Aurora during my time in college. I am interested to get more involved with Project SEARCH as I transition into employment beyond college. Project SEARCH is a great program that positively influences the lives of people with disabilities, their families, and the host site. I seek to assist in that mission by working in a Project SEARCH site to assist students through the transition from high school to adulthood and employment. My desired locations include: Children’s Mercy Hospital (Kansas City), Missouri, or Riverside Community Hospital (Riverside), California.
